History of Mahendranagar

Mahendranagar is one the big town of Nepal .The town is situated in Far western region of Nepal in kanchanpur district of Mahakali zone.Kanchanpur one of Nepal's well known district gateway of Nepal is best known for Barsingha .world famous Shuklaphata Wild life reserve,thick natural forest holysites and unique culture tranquil picnic and sightseeing stops is close to Indian cities Delhi ,Lucknow,Nainatal .There are several holysites one can visit in around area . It is also famous for for Tharu culture, Chaliya dance, Gaura festival,Deuda dance and beautiful lakes. The town is very nice .In the east of town there isa big temple named Bisnu ,which is too much attractive as a result tourist from far of country visit it .In the west there is a big river named Mahakali. There is suspension bridge over it about 1496.5m.In the north there is very nice hill named Chure .The hill is covered with big green trees .Inssible wild life reserve having large swanp deer ,herb of Asia. In the wild life reserve there are varities of wildlife including Royal Bengal Tiger and the great one horned Rhinoceros both are endarged speciesThe reserve provides habitat for about 350 species of birds including sarus ,crane, swamp ,grass owl wrablers fly catcher and endangered Bengal florican .The reserve is home of 21 species ofish including Mahaseer ,Rahu,Naini etc and large no of reptiles.The town is famous for beautiful lakes named Bedkot and Jhilmila lake.That are the national standard of the town .The town is equally famous for its religious places ,some of the religious places are Siddhanath temple ,Purnagiri,Shiv Dham,Siddha Baba,Ghatal Baba, Neglashinee ,Tripura sundari temple and baddi malas are famous places.On the above way city is also famous forwestern , continental, Nepali, Indian, Chinese food .standard resturant are also available for tourist.And here tourist can get local food like Kheer(rice pudding), sel roti(fox bread), Tama (bamboo shoots), and far western special items Gatuni Dubka, Mada, Faune mada, Batku and continental items are also available on demand. On the above ways the city is most famous and able to visit.
